INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS

Undergraduate

The undergraduate program is comprised of a broad set of integrated courses designed to provide the necessary training and perspective for future career responsibilities in the field of International Relations (IR).  The vision of the International Relations Department is to equip our students with a unique combination of skills, such as advanced problem solving ability, conceptual and analytical thinking, in-depth global, regional and local knowledge, as well as high standard writing and language skills that enable them to pursue competitive careers and leadership roles in bureaucracy, academics, politics, business and NGO environments at domestic and international settings. The Department encourages its students to do internships in institutions and organizations connected with the fields they are trained for. Our graduates find jobs in various sectors and institutions. The main ones among them are the universities, research centres and think-tanks, international organizations, media and civil society, foreign trade departments of private companies and bureaucratic institutions, such as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) and Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB).

Program Goals are:

  • to learn fundamental concepts and theories to implement creative and effective solutions to domestic and international political challenges,
  • to analyse political and economic issues critically in personal and professional environments,
  • to formulate and express arguments effectively in oral, written and graphical form,
  • to thrive in diverse, multi-disciplinary teams and take initiative as responsible team members,
